Installation of UPS Worldship 9.0 Fails

Greetings, if anyone has advice or can point me in the right direction
it would be appreciated. Been a week now, and I just can not make
progress on this issue. Machine is windows xp sp2
UPS Application Error Message:
"Installation failure during Step 7 of 27:
MSDEInstaller:PostInstallationSteps:DBSupportEngin e.ConfigureServer
Failed to install UPS Database Server"

Eric,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925209 says that this is the result if a
partially removed previous install. This message is in the context of Small
Business Server, but http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897877/ includes
instruction on cleaning up the MSDE installation.
