Installation MSDE does not work

When trying to install MSDE I am getting an error :
2004-10-14 10:31:36.10 spid2 SQL Server is terminating due to 'stop'
request from Service Control Manager.

As I checked the workaround the specified Service is not installed...and
the RPC Server is not accessible...
Any other solutions or ideas why it is not working?

the Knowledge Base article you are referencing applyes only to another
edition of SQL Server and is not relevant to your issue...
is this exception you quoted present in the installation log file?
are there other information?
